Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best-known athletes worldwide with billions of social media followers worldwide and undisputed global superstar of football Cristiano Ronaldo has again dismissed claims that legendary compatriot Lionel Messi is superior. Ronaldo replied by declaring himself the superior one: “I am better.”

Who Is Better, Ronaldo or Messi? In an interview with Spanish television outlet La Sexta Monday afternoon (February 3), Ronaldo insisted he is the greatest footballer ever and insisted no-one has come close. Speaking from his heart he claimed there has never been anyone more impressive.

As fans of both football and Messi are well aware, Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7) is known for possessing an exaggerated ego that contributes to his athletic success.

Portugal’s icon Ronaldo has long been subjected to comparison and debate against Lionel Messi of Argentina; many fans consider Messi to be one of the greatest footballers ever.

Ronaldo acknowledged those football fanatics but held firm to his position of being “the greatest.” People may like Messi or Pele or Maradona more; yet for him personally – Ronaldo remains undisputedly the best.

Are we discussing Ronaldo as the greatest goalscorer of all-time or something more modest like it being one of many players to ever exist? Ronaldo used statistics-driven arguments when speaking to journalists at La Sexta: stating his conviction as most comprehensive player ever to exist through free kicks, left foot strikes, speed and strength: I am speaking on numbers here.” He concluded by explaining to them his logic on why Ronaldo may well be seen as such an accolade by their argument – in essence stating a belief in himself as being part of that team while discussing possible contenders: I believe myself as being me when talking to journalists at La Sexta: I believe I am most complete player ever existed in football (head, free kicks left foot…); I do it all well.”

He wasn’t finished yet though; telling reporters he has conducted extensive analysis into who holds the most goals scored with their left foot throughout football history and claims he is in the top 10. This statistic may support this claim since many predominantly left footed players tend not to score goals with that foot as often.

Who Has Ronaldo Played For? Ronaldo began his professional career at Sporting Lisbon before making a dramatic transformation at Manchester United of the Premier League. Next came Real Madrid for PS89 Million before returning home for Juventus Italy before going onto Saudi Arabia where he now captains Pro-League side Al Nassr as club captain.

Cristiano Ronaldo stands firmly as one of the greatest goalscorers ever with 923 official professional goals to his credit; although some critics claim Pele is better due to an inaccurate goal total.

Cristiano Ronaldo will turn 40 tomorrow, February 5, but is determined not to slow down or retire any time soon, making clear to reporters he plans on representing Portugal at as many international tournaments as he possibly can.

No one knows for certain if Cristiano Ronaldo will go down as one of the greats ever; what we do know for certain, however, is that he has become one of the greatest athletes and players ever seen on professional football fields. Cristiano is driven and all-time successful athlete possessed with passion that rivals no one in history of professional football – an unparalleled drive and desire to constantly better himself is unrivaled among current professional players or any that have played before him.
