Age Concern Marbella – San Pedro knows the importance of having a good chat. Age Concern Marbella – San Pedro offers its members a selection of five fabulous coffee mornings, where they can make new friends or catch up with old friends. Membership is free.
Each venue is managed by a professional host, who will be there to assist and introduce people. The coffee mornings provide a great place to meet people and are a friendly environment.
There’s more to retirement than just fun. In retirement, doctors are praising the benefits of conversation. There is currently no way to stop memory loss. For older people, there are three major benefits to talking more.
Talking activates the mind because it speeds up the process of thinking and memory.
Second, a greater amount of conversation can help prevent mental illness. It also reduces stress. The older generation tends to be very stoic, and they tend to bottle up their feelings. They will feel better if you give them the chance to talk and listen to them.
Speaking also helps to increase the capacity of your lungs and the muscles that are active in your face and throat.
If you’ve not yet been to one of Age Concern’s coffee mornings (from 11am to 12.30pm or a bit later), do put them on your ‘to-do’ list. Full details are available by calling 689 355 198, or dropping them a line at info@ageconcernmarbella.com.
Join the growing number of people who look forward to a ‘cuppa and a chat’ and a huge dose of fun and friendship.
