Marbella has promoted itself as a destination of excellence and quality. ‘Now this is my land,’ says Eva Longoria in a promotional video of Marbella in which she summarises everything that seduces her about the city.

‘The air, the beach, the people, the culture, the way of life,’ says the American actress, film and television director and star of the latest promotional campaign, plugging Marbella as an international location for quality and excellence.

The deputy mayor, Félix Romero, has highlighted the quantity and quality of events to be held in Marbella in 2025, such as the Ironman World Championship, Staysure Marbella Legends, King’s Cup and Queen’s Cup of Beach Volleyball, and the Spanish Absolute Beach Tennis Championship 2025.

Marbella ended the financial year 2024 with tourism records, achieving the highest average stay and the best hotel profitability ever recorded. The hotels filled up 80 percent of rooms all year long, showing that the city has been able to extend its high season. The number of overnight guests reached 2,584,174 and the number of day trippers reached 719.151.

British tourists followed the national market as the main tourist profiles. Germany, France and the Netherlands were also important markets, as well as Ireland and the United States. Hotel profitability also saw record numbers, with an average of €214.08 per person, with peak months such as August and December skyrocketing.

Marbella has become a popular destination for sports tourism because of its commitment to host events and promote its unique facilities. This year, the Mediterranean Park in Marbella will host the Spanish Absolute Beach Tennis Championships 2025. The event showcases the city’s commitment towards beach-based sports.
