A modern Alzheimer’s care residence is set to open soon in Almería’s Vega de Acá neighbourhood, providing much-needed specialised care for seniors. This modern facility is a major step forward in the city’s efforts to meet the growing demand for dementia care.
The facility is designed to provide comfort and care
Located on a peaceful beachside plot near the Kina Jiménez Dance Conservatory, the 2,300-square-metre residence was built with seniors’ well-being in mind. The building has a ground level, two upper floors, and an attic that houses a psychogeriatric unit for Alzheimer patients. The centre is designed to accommodate 150 residents in a safe, nurturing environment.
Job creation and significant investment
This project is the result of over €5 million in private investment and three years of construction. It will not only provide high-quality healthcare, but also have a positive impact on the local economy. Around 100 new jobs will be created, ranging from healthcare roles to facility management positions, offering opportunities for Almería’s residents.
Boosting the local economic growth
As part of a 60-year land lease agreement, the facility will contribute €80,000 annually to the city’s budget. This money will be reinvested into local projects, improving infrastructure and services for Almería’s residents. The city will take ownership of the property at the end of the rental period, so that it can remain a valuable resource for future generations.
Commitment to vulnerable residents
The opening of this Alzheimer’s care residence demonstrates Almería’s dedication to thoughtful growth. The city has enhanced care options for the most vulnerable residents by combining private investment and public benefits. This also supports the local economy. Families with Alzheimer’s will soon be able to access specialised care near their homes, bringing comfort and peace-of-mind.
