Flamenco is a profound art that requires passion, rhythm and the elusive “duende.” Will Smith, the star of the movie “Marbella,” took part in the celebrations with his charm and humour during his recent visit to Marbella.
Smith, in a spontaneous act of fun, joined local flamenco guitarist Salvador Andrades and his soulful strumming. Smith followed Felipe de Algeciras’ lead with a lot of infectious enthusiasm and tried to replicate his intricate movements. The scene was full of camaraderie, and the result was a lot more than a little impressive. Later, the Hollywood star shared the fun moment with his Instagram followers.
This impromptu lesson in flamenco took place when Smith made a brief stop at Marbella. On July 26, he performed his only show in Spain during his current tour. The show was a nostalgic look back at Smith’s three-decade musical career.
Will Smith has once again shown his ability to connect with audiences, and experience the cultures of places he travels. The spontaneous moment met with enthusiastic applause and the occasional ¡Olé!
