Collapsed ceiling leaves four injured at Valencia Airport –

A surreal situation was experienced on Sunday at Valencia Airport , when several people heard “a thunderous noise”, before a rain of rubble began to fall due to a false ceiling falling down in a departure lounge, leaving four injured.

“I heard a thunderous noise and then I noticed how several pieces of rubble hit me on the head and arms. We were very lucky. The worst thing is the fear and the psychological impact,” said one of the four injured in statements to the Las Provincias newspaper.

The incident occurred at around 6:45pm on Sunday, in an area with tables and chairs for one of the cafes in the terminal. AENA also reported the incident to the same newspaper, confirming that four passengers had suffered minor injuries and were treated by the medical services based at the airport.

The same sources have indicated that the four people also inhaled dust from the rubble, but were able to continue their respective trips after the medical assistance they received allowed them to travel.
