The main road connecting Ronda to the Costa Del Sol is being repaired and reopened.  A landslide damaged the bridge and completely blocked the A-397 on 8th March, after storms in the area. The Junta de Andalucía’s regional ministry of public works confirmed in a statement today that a team of 20 specialists are working on the road seven days a week.

Twenty-strong team and specialist equipment Before repairs can be started, a crane of 200 tonnes is used to remove boulders and debris from heights up to 100 meters.  A budget of €3.5 million euros has been allocated for repairs, which are expected to be finished in August.  The road is also being protected from future landslides by constructing defenses.
