Luis Rubiales’ trial for the Jenni-Hermoso kiss will begin on Monday.
The incident occurred after Spain’s women’s national football team defeated England in the World Cup Final 2023 in Sydney.
Rubiales – the then president of Spain’s Football Federation – grabbed Hermoso by the head as she was receiving the gold medal and kissed it on the lip.

Former President of the Federation, will be facing prosecutors that want to give him an one-year jail sentence for sexual abuse.
Rubiales is also being sentenced to a year and a half for coercion due to the alleged pressuring of Jenni Hermoso to say that they kissed was consensual.
In relation to this charge, Rubiales’s three co-workers are also being tried for allegations of collusion in the alleged act of coercion.
The three men are: Jorge Vilda, coach of the side in 2023, Rubén Rivera, the former head of marketing at the federation, and Albert Luque, who was the sporting director.
All the accused deny any and all accusations.
Hermoso is expected to appear on the first day of the trial, which will last until the 19th February.
