Almond blossom routes will expand in 2025, according to CSN News


The Almond Blossom Routes in the Filabres-Alhamilla mountains of Almería are set to return in 2025 with exciting new additions.

This year marks the first time the trails will extend to the Alto Nacimiento region, offering even more opportunities for hikers to explore the natural beauty of Almería’s countryside. Turrillas is also included in the event, which brings the total number to 12. The season kicked off on January 25 with a trek in Benizalón.

Combine hiking with food

These routes combine hiking with traditional food. Participants can enjoy local cuisine in restaurants while admiring the blossoming almond trees. The Almond Gastronomy Days, now in their 10th year, will run alongside the hikes, featuring dishes prepared by renowned chefs such as Antonio Gázquez.

Tourism and rural communities: a boost for the economy

‘These routes are a perfect showcase for the stunning landscapes and rich culinary heritage of our province,’ said José Antonio García, Deputy of Sports. He highlighted the role that this program plays in promoting tourism, sustainability and combating rural depopulation.

How to participate

Organiser Diego García noted the event’s growing popularity, while Gázquez praised the blend of outdoor adventure and authentic regional flavours. Reservations are required to join the routes. To book, please call 606 795 556 or email almeria@natures.es.
