Starting February 1, Renfe is increasing its daily train services between Almería, Guadix, and Granada, adding 280 extra seats each week. This expansion will improve the Media Distancia service (medium distance) and give travelers more flexibility.
Alvia trains offers more connections
The Alvia train (series 730) has been providing additional seating for passengers traveling between Almería, Guadix, and Granada. This hybrid train, which runs on both Iberian gauge and high-speed tracks, connects Almería to Madrid in the early morning and now offers an easier way to reach Granada.
The update provides more than 1500 seats per day between the provincial capitals.
Travel information and booking tickets
Renfe has an official app and website where passengers can book tickets or check the schedule.
Ongoing work in Almería and alternative transport
Despite ongoing construction work to fully integrate train services into Almería’s city center, Renfe continues to operate alternative bus services between Almería and Huércal-Viator.
Renfe runs two Media Distancia services at 9am, one at 12pm, and an Intercity service in the afternoon using a Talgo 6 train. These options provide even more flexibility for passengers traveling between Almería and Granada.
