Monica Garcia, the Health Minister in Spain said that the draft law to ban smoking has almost been finished.
The Language of Speaking SER Radio Garcia revealed on Thursday that the smoke-free zones will extend to terraces and canopies as well as work vehicles, university campus, school playgrounds sports facilities, swimming pools in public areas, and outdoor leisure spaces.
The proposed ban will include Both conventional tobacco and vapes are acceptable.

Garcia stated: “Restrictions are supported by scientific evidence and international experience, as well as by recommendations from the European Union.”
“A majority of people, including smokers, support them and ask us to be resolute in our fight against the tobacco scourge.”
The Minister stressed that everyone, but especially vulnerable groups like children, must be provided with a safe and healthy environment.
Garcia continued, “This measures responds to an emphasis on health equity by recognizing that every person has the right to not be subjected to smoke without their consent.”
After the Council of Ministers has approved the bill, it is not easy to pass the legislation.
The fight will be in Congress, where the government may find itself in a minority situation and have to soften its measures in order to get approval.
This could include concessions on terraces of bars and restaurants.
Garcia hasn’t given a timeline for the law to be passed into statute.
“We are hopeful that the law draft will be passed and can become a reality in the near future,” she said.
“Every space gained through tobacco smoke is space lost from life and health.”
