Spanish actress arrested in Marbella: Goya-nominated star sent to jail for ‘battering shop owner over a bag of peanuts’ – CSN News


Monica Cervera – a Spanish actress who was once nominated for the Goya Award 2005 – has been arrested by police in Marbella after a theft attempt of a bag peanuts.

The 49-year old was arrested over a court order that remained outstanding from a conviction in 2023 for attempted robbery.

Cervera is a former star of the popular TV series La que se avecina The film (The One that Looms), and the book Crimen Ferpecto (The Perfect Crime) has suffered a dramatic fall in popularity.

She is a In 2021, she was sentenced to eleven months in prison for assaulting a shopkeeper who confronted the woman as she attempted to leave with a peanut bag.

CCTV captured the ex-movie star punching and shoving the owner, causing him to be out of work for a whole week.

Cervera was not present at the trial despite court documents stating that she admitted the events fully during the preliminary investigations.

The court, which had ordered her arrest after she failed to show for the trial, also fined her €180 for causing injury to the shop owner.
