POLICE have raided a house of horrors in Madrid where women were forced to prostitute themselves until they passed out.
Policia Nacional arrested eight people following the crackdown in the La Latina neighbourhood of the city, freeing a total of six sex slaves from captivity.
According to a press release on Thursday, the victims were forced to work 24 hours per day.
They were also forced to take cocaine to keep them awake and had sponges placed inside them if they were menstruating ‘so clients wouldn’t notice’, police said.
The apartment was run by a woman known as ‘Mami’, who had four managers who controlled the women and the business.
The sex slaves were not allowed to deny any request from punters or they would face punishment.
They were made to work around the clock, with some victims allegedly losing consciousness.
The gang is said to have made more than €100,000 before police intervened in late May of this year.
A total of seven women and one man were arrested.
They have been charged with mafia activity, money laundering, human trafficking and sexual exploitation, among other crimes.
