Moors & Christians: El Campello – CSN News


Proceeding the continuous motif of Moors and Christians celebrations throughout the Costa Blanca North, in between October 6 and 15, it is El Campello’s turn.

In Between October 8 and 15, a middle ages market will certainly remain in the Plaza de la Constitucion and bordering roads.

The centerpiece highlights are as adheres to:

Friday October 11

5.00 pm: Setting up of the Moors and Christians camps on the coastline of Carrer le Mar.

10.30 pm: Ceremony of the community crier of the carnivals, with the captains and their entourage.

Twelve o’clock at night: Live songs in the Plaza de la Constitucion.

Saturday October 12

7.00 am: Disembarkation on the coastline of Calle del Mar

8.30 am: Moorish consular office on the coastline and end of the world for the community’s occupation.

11.30 pm: Songs in the Plaza de la Constitucion

Sunday October 13

11.30 am: Christian consular office in the Cheery Castle

7.00 pm: Moors and Christians entry (Calle San Juan Bosco, Avenida Generalitat and Calle Alcalde Oncina Giner)

11.30 pm: Live songs in the Plaza de la Constitucion

Monday October 14

8.00 pm: Cheery hideaway (Exact same path as the entry) consisting of a DJ at the Cheery Castle.

Tuesday October 15

11.00 am: Offering of blossoms and fruits to the Forsaken Virgin.

1.30 pm: Great last ‘mascleta’ to Santa Teresa in the Plaza de la Constitucion.

8.00 pm: Procession of the captains and the joyful bands from the Church Square, complied with by fireworks in honour of the Forsaken Virgin
