Marbella receives top tourism prize

Marbella was awarded a prestigious prize for its tourism excellence at the Spain Is Excellence Awards. The event took place in Madrid at the Rosewood Villa Magna Hotel and honored individuals and places who helped promote the Spanish Brand internationally.

Mayor Ángeles Muñoz accepted the award on behalf of the town and highlighted Marbella’s commitment to quality and sustainability in tourism. She said that the town’s position as a leader is a result of years of hardwork and the support of local businesses.

Marbella residents were also thanked by the mayor, who praised their hospitality for being a major reason visitors come back year after year. She also said that Marbella is a destination with a diverse range of services such as fine dining, luxury hotel, sports, and health tourism.

The SIE Awards also recognised other leading figures and companies, such as chef José Andrés, designer Lorenzo Caprile, dancer Sara Baras, insurance company Mapfre and family-run Grupo Cosentino.

Marbella has been recognized internationally for many years. This new award is just one more. The town has also been named as the top destination to visit by 2024. It will host this year’s World Congress of Tourist Cities, which confirms it status as one of Spain’s best and most dynamic tourist locations.
