Iberostar opened the long-awaited Iberostar Selection Es Trenc hotel in Mallorca. It is the sixteenth Iberostar on the island.

Iberostar and the Consell de Mallorca inaugurated the hotel located in Colonia Sant Jordi in the south of Mallorca. Every room at the five-star luxury hotel has a sea view. The top floor also features themed suites and a rooftop deck with views of the Mediterranean.

The chain is committed to expanding, while keeping the guest at the heart of its mission. Pere Joan Planas, the director  of the Tourism Strategy Agency of the Balearic Islands, explains that “this new hotel reflects what we try to push from the Government of the Balearic Islands: the transformation of the tourism model based on quality, sustainability, and circularity. We should continue to bet public-private synergies, and maintain an innovation character so that our Islands can remain relevant for tourism at an international level.

This is a result of the positive growth in tourism and numerous investments. Other companies have jumped onboard the Mallorca bandwagon, investing heavily in tourism. Recently, Banca March and Melià Hotels teamed up to acquire a hotel in Mallorca to renovate, and countless other hotels and resorts are doing the same in preparation of the peak season of tourists. This year residents will be bracing for record numbers. In April, the roads of Mallorca were completely blocked by traffic, which was unheard of for an April in a popular destination such as Mallorca.

Moreover the calculations of Pedro Fiol (President of the Business Association of Travel Agencies of Balearic Islands) suggest that a vacation in Mallorca now has the same price as some of the most sought-after destinations in the entire world.
