Computer says no: ChatGPT is down, and thousands of users are receiving error messages

OpenAI’s owners spoke out about the ChatGPT issues that users are facing today, Tuesday June 10, 2025.

There have been reports of more than 1400 complaints in the UK.

Not all users are affected yet. Some complaints include examples of error message that read: “A Network Error Occurred.” Please check your internet connection and try again. “If this problem persists, please contact our help center via help.openai.com.”

Other users have reported “Hmm.. Something seems to be wrong” and “Error on message stream.”

ChatGPT appears to have been down since 9am BST. The service status Page says: “Some users experience elevated error rates and latencies across all the listed services.” We are investigating.”

Jamie Harrison The Sun The author has stated: “Outages appear to be more common these days, given that we are so dependent on apps and digital service providers.” The reasons for them can be varied.

He says that while some problems “can be minor, and can be resolved in a matter of minutes or even a few hours,” “larger outages may last days and cause chaos.” Cyber attacks could be the cause.
