AT least 435 boat migrants on have arrived to the Canary Islands in Spain this weekend.
A boat carrying 75 people from sub-Saharan Africa, one of them a woman, was rescued some nine miles off the shore of Gran Canaria on Friday.
A second vessel, ferrying 174 migrants, including 12 women and four minors, was escorted into the port of El Hierro.
Once both reached land, medical teams were on the scene to attend to the migrants, including the Red Cross and the Canaries Emergency Service (SUC).
Sources told Cadena Ser that all the migrants were in good health, with no injuries reported.
The first boat arrived at little after 10pm on Friday, while the second boat was brought into shore at 6.35am on Saturday.
The second vessel was also carrying people from sub-Saharan Africa, as well as from Pakistan and Syria.
According to the Red Cross, two more boats arrived today, bringing a total of 186 migrants to La Gomera and Gran Canaria.
It means at least 435 have arrived between Friday and Saturday.
