Fruit Logistica Berlin: Almeria shows why it’s Spain’s top agrifood exporter
Berlin will become a global hub in the fruit-and-vegetable industry between February 5 and 7. Fruit Logistica is celebrating its 30th anniversary, a German fair that allows professionals to network, collaborate and grow their business.
This event takes place at the Messe Berliner Exhibition and Congress Centre. More than 2,500 exhibitors, representing 86 countries, are showcasing products and innovations. Around 66,000 professionals from 145 countries will also be in attendance. This shows the importance of this event on a global scale.
Almeria was represented by 400 individuals in Berlin at Fruit Logistica
Spain plays a major role at this year’s event. Almeria is represented by over 400 people, representing approximately 100 Almeria companies. This is not surprising, given that Almeria is the leader of fruit and vegetable exports in Spain.
In fact, recent data indicates that Almeria’s vegetable exports reached an impressive value of €3.365 billion between January and November of last year. Almeria is ranked above Murcia and Valencia as the most important exporting areas in Spain.
The capital city of Almeria also has a prominent representation at the event, led by Mayor María del Mar Vázquez. Almeria’s agrifood industry and the world’s leading showcase of agriculture, fruits, and vegetables continue to demonstrate the strength and vitality on the Almeria countryside.
